What fun we had last night singing the Christmas portion of Handel's Messiah! One more Sunday of the Advent season and then Christmas Eve and the beginning of the Christmas season!
Isaiah 7:14
"Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel."
Matthew reminds us that Immanuel, of course, means "God with us." This reminds us that the Christmas message continues to be about God's presence with us in the here and now and not just about a long ago event in a place far from here.
I pray that the meaning of Christmas continues to find it's way into your heart in the midst of your holiday preparations.
